We had a busy week over here! We had MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) on Monday, Thursday my DD was gone during our tot school time and Friday the grandparents were here. So, we didn’t get a whole lot done this week. I don’t know what I will do when we start “real” homeschooling b/c we won’t be able to miss all these random days ;)
We did a pumpkin size sorting page from COAH. She is still getting a good handle on this so we only used large and small, but she definitely knows the difference. Maybe next time we will introduce medium.
Another page from COAH. We did how many pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. I would put a number in the square and she had to count out that many pumpkins and put them on the page. But, when she saw me putting the number on the square she thought all the pumpkins should go there, too!
We did pumpkin painting with an apple. If anyone has any tips on how to easily hold the apple let me know. Even I had the hardest time trying to pick it up off the paper ;)
I got some Halloween coloring books from Walgreens a couple weeks ago so we did some coloring in them, which basically turned into looking at all the pages.
I bought her a little pumpkin and let her paint it. She started out using single colors with the paint brush. Then she asked to use her finger and finally she went with the whole hand approach ;)
And you can’t celebrate Halloween without carving a pumpkin. As much as she loved getting her hands dirty with finger paint, she did not like touching the inside of the pumpkin. She said it was yucky ;)
So, there was our fun week. For more great ideas check out 1+1+1=1!
And I thought my little one's pumpkin was a mess! lol - at least they had fun. :) I love reading about your Tot School weeks - you have such good ideas. Keep it up, SuperMom!
